The New Season
The fashion clock’s forever ticking, and moving forward at a fast pace. We welcome a new trend today, and say goodbye tomorrow. In this fiery heat, it is hard to imagine that in just a few months, we’ll be trading in our sandals for boots, skirts for trousers, and er…crop tops for multiple layers. With the summer sales everywhere as stores clear away the old, in prep for the new, we are enthusiastic about what Autumn/Winter will bring.
Here come the girls |
Here’s a look at the new themes for the new season to come…
Pretty In Pink
The pretty colour that epitomizes femininity with its girly charm and delicate allure. Celine and Dior among others made this Barbie doll colour look irresistible.
A Woman’s Worth
The voluptuous hourglass figure and flattering peplums are every bit feminine. Tired of slinky and boyish frames? Here ‘s the cure: nipped waists, curve shaping and shape, figure flattering old school elegance.
Tartans, checks and plaid
Laundry-bag checks are in. Tartan, checks and plaid are winter’s answer to summer’s monochrome, and also the equivalent to clashing prints. The colour palette is bold and bright; mix and match if you dare.
Sleeveless
Nothing highlights the importance of outerwear as well as winter. The layers inside may not matter as much, but the cherry on top does. It is the staple. What’s more stylish for the outer layer than the long sleeveless blazers and coats?
Supersize, Me
The boyfriend jeans, slouchy jumpers and baggy tees, made us bow down and kneel, but move over slightly for the oversized coat. The king of androgyny. It’s been tailored with cocooning round shoulders and large sleeves to accommodate thick under layers.
Hey, Punk!
When the queen of pop, Madonna turned up to the Met Gala ball in her punk attire (one of the few to adhere to the theme), who knew the trend would catch on?
Leather boots, chains, spikes and eyelets, this is the good girl gone bad.
Birds of a feather flock together
Feathers are sugar, spice and everything nice. This new flock is in saccharine hues; dreamy and fluffy. The downside? Rain and snow are the worst enemies.
Nevertheless, Great Gatsby themed party, anyone?
Flowerbomb
Ye’ hayfever sufferers rejoice and be glad; this is your chance to wear a clashing bed of flower prints, and with a vengeance, without adverse reactions. Suiting to the weather to come, the prints are darker, harsher and outlandish.
Keynote? Everything in abudance.
